The community garden at Rose Park Neighborhood Center (RPNC) was established in Fall 2024 and is Wasatch Community Gardens' first partnership garden in collaboration with The Good Samaritan Foundation of Utah (GSF), with over 50 beds for growing local, organic produce in an area of Salt Lake City that has historically experienced food apartheid, or systemic lack of access to fresh produce.
For over 17 years, the Good Samaritan Foundation has been supporting families from refugee and immigrant backgrounds through programming such as English language learning, citizenship preparation, legal clinics, college scholarships, parent engagement classes, food accessibility, and other community resources. Food is culture and growing food is central to cultural expression and sustaining a sense of belonging.
Wasatch Community Gardens is a proud supporter and partner of Rose Park Neighborhood Center. To learn more about the work Rose Park Neighborhood Center is doing, please visit their website below!
