Youth Garden Club is an enrichment program available to qualifying partnering social service agencies that work with youth ages 4-12. Our classes aim to empower youth to make healthy choices for themselves, their communities, and the environment. Through hands-on experience in growing and preparing healthy, local, organic food, youth experience the connection between the environment, food systems, and their own health. Participating youth are often able to take garden produce home to share with their families.
The partnering social service agencies are responsible for transporting students to and from the garden, supervising participants during classes, and reporting annual demographic statistics. Thanks to our community partners and individual donors, Wasatch Community Gardens provides this program free of charge for qualifying agencies.
